The 6th annual IIEF Pensions Policy and Business
Summit '04 |
|
The 6 th
annual IIEF pension sector summit was sponsored by
the Asian Development Bank (ADB), supported by the
Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), Ministry of
Finance and hosted in collaboration with the India
Pension Research Foundation (IPRF). The summit
included a one-day national pension reforms workshop
for State Governments on 08 November. This was
followed by a 2-day policy roundtable on the key
issues in implementing the New Pension System (NPS)
for central government employees. The roundtable
examined issues of administration, funds management,
consumer policies, taxation, access and coverage
strategies. |

Role of MFIs, NGOs and SHGs in India 's Pension
Reform, 2004 |
|
This
workshop was aimed to provide a platform to
policymakers (DEA, PFRDA, etc.) to discuss the
institutional arrangements, policy framework and the
objectives of the new pension scheme with potential
service providers and influence groups including
NGOs, MFIs, SHGs. These service providers shared
their interest, experience, ability and concerns
with informal sector and also shared information on
financial literacy, needs, saving capacity and also
the retirement behavior and actions on retirement
and financial savings of the informal sector. |

5th Annual IIEF Pension Sector Summit , 2003 |
|
A key
objective of this conference was to provide a
platform to policy-makers and regulators to discuss
the policy direction, implementation ideas and
operations of the new pension system with domestic
and overseas experts, and market participants, as
well as to obtain useful information, analysis and
feedback from a wide spectrum of participants and
potential users of this system. This forum also
provided participants an insight to the functioning
of existing provisions for old age income security
in India as well as current reform initiatives and a
roadmap for their future development. It provided
the pension administrators and policy-makers
associated with pension provisions with a greater
clarity on the core principles of pension system
design, reform and implementation. |

ASSOCHAM-IIEF Pension Fund Management Conference
2003 |

ASSOCHAM
and IIEF hosted this one-day conference to evaluate
prudent investment strategies that should be adopted
to maximize retirement benefits for India ?s
workforce. A key objective of this conference was to
provide useful information and analysis on
strategies for long-term investment to policymakers
and other stakeholders as the pension reforms
process graduates to implementation. |

IIEF Policy Roundtable on Design & Implementation of
Pension Reforms in India , 2002 |

The 3 rd
IIEF pension policy roundtable was hosted in
collaboration with the Insurance Regulatory and
Development Authority. This roundtable examined the
key principles of pension system design and
implementation and helped in building greater
knowledge and capacity in this area. This roundtable
was attended by senior officials from the Indian
government, international pension sector experts and
economists. |
